Natalie Imbruglia Torn Cover Facts

We apologise in advance if this song now gets stuck in your head all day…

A mere 21 years ago, in 1997, Natalie Imbruglia released one of the greatest songs of all time (arguably), Torn.

However, 90s kids will be shocked by our latest discovery. It has emerged that the song was ACTUALLY A COVER. We are the definition of ‘shook’ over the news. Is everything we have come to know about life actually a lie?!?

The sing-your-heart-out banger was originally written by Danish singer, Lis Sorensen, and then recorded by rock band, Ednaswap, to very different effects.

However, the track didn’t exactly take off for the rockers and only came to global attention when Natalie lent her vocals to the track. She even garnered a BRIT Award for Best International Female in the process.

Naturally, we couldn’t hold ourselves back from tracking down the original song. Prepare yourself accordingly for the below…

I don’t know about you but Natalie’s video for the track blows the original out of the water. After all, it comes complete with late 90s heartthrob, Jeremy Sheffield, and Nat's take on 90s grunge garms.

The people of the internet are struggling to deal with the news...

Now open those windows and blast out Torn like it’s 1997 all over again.
